We are Wanstead Climate Action. Hello!

Originally established in 2019 in Wanstead in the London Borough of Redbridge, we are a group of like-minded residents who united in our concerns about climate change. Follow us here for details on campaigns past and present, information on upcoming actions and original articles and blogs written by our members.

In 2025 we became part of the Friends of the Earth local action group network. We also take inspiration from many other local, national and international groups and campaigns, such as the Climate and Nature Bill and Fossil Fuel Non-proliferation Treaty.

We currently meet on the third Monday of the month, usually at Wanstead House, and welcome new faces. Our actions include outreach, practical events like repair cafés, travelling to demonstrations together, letter-writing campaigns, and educating ourselves, with a book group covering issues related to climate, ecology and social justice.
